CONTENT

The seminar was inaugurated with address of welcome by the Session Chair Professor Mojib Uddin Ahmed, Ph.D, Chairman, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Dhaka. Md. Shoaib Akhtar, Research Associate, Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) presented the paper “Tourism Bangladesh: Opportunities and Challenges”. Ms. Samina Ali presented a multimedia presentation followed by a documentary on tourism.  Muhammad Faruk Khan, MP, Hon’ble Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, expressing his keen interest in the study, requested for further studies in some potential areas of the country’s tourism sector. Mr. Ghulam Muhammed Quader, MP, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce called upon the BFTI and the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Dhaka to remain engaged in suggesting ways and means to face the challenges impeding the growth of tourism in Bangladesh.
