Overview: —Commerce Secretary, Mahbub Ahmed inaugurated the training programme while Honorable Commerce Minister, Mohammed Ghulam Quader announced its closure after certificate awarding ceremony. Dr. Md. Mozibur Rahman, CEO, BFTI chaired the programme.

Scope — It was a well designed training course on General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS). The objective was to strengthen the capacity of government officials in relevant ministries/divisions, regulatory bodies and those in the private sector engaged in the services trade. The training started with an overview of GATS followed by detailed analysis of the key GATS issues. Schedule of commitment and LDCs services waiver were discussed at length.
