The program was jointly organised with the aim of exploring initiatives to identify and increase exports to Russia and other CIS countries.

Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhitht, Honorable Finance Minister, as the chief guest emphasized on both export products and destinations, particularly in Russia and other CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries. He also assured the exporters that government would soon take necessary steps to establish warehouses in the CIS countries. He urged the entrepreneurs to diversify exports and export products with greater value addition. He mentioned the potentiality of leather, toy and plastic goods in foreign markets.

Honorable Commerce Minister, Tofail Ahmed was present as special guest highlighted the urgency of extending cash incentives to encourage entrepreneurs diversify export. He ensured that no foreign investments would be allowed without providing utilities (power, gas) to the local investors. He asked for cash incentives to compensate the losses incurred due to devaluation of Russian Ruble. He also emphasized on removing obstacles like complexity in banking, long lead time and long sea route.

Executive director of Bangladesh Bank, Mr. Ahsan Ullah ensured that Bangladesh bank would increase its level of cooperation but necessary directives for the government is a must.

Former FBCCI President AK Azad, FBCCI Vice President Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, Foerign Secretary ShahidulHoque, Finance Secretary Mahbub Ahmed etc were present in the discussion program.
