Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) organized a 3-day-long training program titled ‘Understanding Tax, VAT & Customs Duty for Trade’ on 28-31 October 2024.
The closing and certificate awarding ceremony of the training program was held on 31 October 2024 at the BFTI's Conference room at Karwan Bazar, Dhaka.
Md. Mizanur Rahman ndc, Registrar (Additional Secretary) Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) graced the event as the Guest of Honor. Mr. Mohammad Navid Safiullah Chief Executive Officer (Additional Charge), BFTI & Additional Secretary (Export) Ministry of Commerce chaired the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Md. Mizanur Rahman ndc, Registrar, RJSC highlighted the significance of income tax, VAT, and customs duty collection in managing government expenditures and economic activities. He hoped that training regarding this topic could be instrumental in acquiring practical knowledge of income tax, customs and VAT assessment and income tax return filing.
In his speech, Mr. Mohammad Navid Safiullah, CEO, BFTI stated that this training had enlightened the participants with a better understanding of Tax, VAT and customs duty that critically affect both the businesses and individuals. He urged the participants to apply this knowledge to create a transparent and compliant financial environment for the country.
The 3-day-long training program concluded with a certificate awarding session. Md. Mizanur Rahman ndc, Registrar, RJSC and Mr. Mohammad Navid Safiullah, CEO, BFTI awarded certificates to the participants from the Ministry of Commerce, Foreign Service Academy (FSA), Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports (CCI&E), Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Delta Pharma Ltd., Eastern Bank PLC, Filament Engineering Ltd., Tradent Ltd. and BFTI for completing the training program.
