Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) organized a training program titled ‘WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and Bangladesh for the National Enquiry Points/ Focal Persons’ from 27-29 January 2025 at the Conference Room of BFTI at Karwan Bazar, Dhaka. The training program was initiated by Bangladesh Regional Connectivity Project-1 (BRCP-1), Ministry of Commerce.
The opening ceremony of the training program was chaired by Mr. Mohammad Navid Safiullah, CEO (Additional Charge), BFTI and Director General (Additional Secretary), Trade Organization (DTO) Wing Ministry of Commerce. Dr. Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury, Additional Secretary, WTO Wing, Ministry of Commerce graced the event as the Chief Guest. Ms. Shaila Yasmin, Project Director (Joint Secretary) (Additional Charge), Bangladesh Regional Connectivity Project-1 (BRCP-1), Ministry of Commerce was present as the Special Guest and Mr. Md. Munir Chowdhury National Trade Expert, BRCP-1, Ministry of Commerce moderated the event.
A total of 25 participants from Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Bangladesh Bank, National Board of Revenue (NBR), Economic Relations Division, Finance Division, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, BEPZA, Industry and Energy Division, DAE (Plant Quarantine Wing), Bangladesh Land Port Authority (BLPA), Chittagong Port Authority, FBCCI, BKMEA, BGMEA, and BFTI attended the training program.
The 3-day-long training program concluded with a certificate awarding session on 29 January 2025. Mr. Mohammad Navid Safiullah, CEO, BFTI awarded certificates to 25 participants from both the public and private sectors for completing the training program.
