Opening Ceremony of the Training Program titled “Capacity Building Training on ‘WTO, Trade and Development’’

The opening ceremony of the training program titled ‘Capacity Building Training on ‘WTO, Trade and Development’ organized by Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) was held on 27 May 2025 at the Conference Room of BFTI, TCB Bhaban, 1, Karwan Bazar, Dhaka-1215. The training program was initiated by Bangladesh Regional Connectivity Project-1 (BRCP-1), Ministry of Commerce and implemented by Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI). This 3-day-long training program will continue from 27 to 29 May 2025. 

Dr. Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury, Additional Secretary, WTO Wing, Ministry of Commerce, People's Republic of Bangladesh, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. Md. Abdur Razzak (Additional Secretary), CEO (Additional Charge), BFTI was present as a Special Guest. Ms. Shaila Yasmin, Project Director (Joint Secretary) (Additional Charge), Bangladesh Regional Connectivity Project-1 (BRCP-1), Ministry of Commerce chaired the event while Mr. Md. Munir Chowdhury National Trade Expert, BRCP-1, Ministry of Commerce moderated the event.

A total number of 25 participants from Bangladesh Bank, Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), National Board of Revenue (NBR), Finance Division, Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Industries, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Ministry of Planning(Industry and Energy Division), Bangladesh Competition Commission (BCC), Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission (BTTC), Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh Land Port Authority (BLPA), Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority(BEPZA), Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry(MCCI) and Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute(BFTI) attended the training program.
