Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) signed a performance agreement with WTO Wing, Ministry of Commerce of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh on June 07, 2023 for the assignment titled 'Branding, Web Development & other activities for Readymade Garment Industries in Bangladesh'. BFTI conducted this assignment under, "Export Diversification and Competitiveness Development (TIER II) Project" of WTO Wing, Ministry of Commerce of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh with the support of Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) of World Trade Organization (WTO).
This visionary initiative aimed to connect Bangladesh’s rich heritage textiles (muslin, jamdani, khadi etc.) with the global high-end fashion and rebrand Bangladesh's ready-made garment industry. Under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is committed to build a Smart Bangladesh that embraces sustainability, technology, and a knowledge-based economy. This initiative perfectly aligned with our goals, showcasing our skilled workforce and the cultural treasures of our nation. The Unleashing Heritage project bridges between traditional textiles and contemporary fashion, preserving Bangladesh's heritage while embracing innovation. This initiative celebrated the exceptional craftsmanship of Bangladeshi artisans and highlighted the beauty, intricacy, and cultural significance of its textiles. This initiative invariably promotes Bangladesh's export of Textile products.
