WTO MC 13
Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) prepared 30 country papers and submitted them to Ministry of Commerce for facilitating negotiations at WTO Ministerial Conference (MC) 13. The papers were developed in order to facilitate the bilateral Commerce Minister level discussions on the sideline of the MC.
The papers contain information on: country profile including strategic location, macro economy, social indicators and regional and bilateral FTAs under negotiation and VVIP visits, import-export, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), manpower export and the existing bilateral agreements. Subsequently, the reports explore country specific new opportunities in terms of trade, FDI and manpower. It is noteworthy to mention that Hon'ble State Minister of the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) attended several bilateral ministerial meetings with the Commerce Ministers of Singapore, China, Japan and United Kingdom and India during the WTO MC 13.
