Impact assessment of the initiative to deliver essential commodities at subsidized prices to 01 crore low-income families Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute arranged a validation workshop of the study on 05 March 2024

Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) has completed a study on ‘Impact assessment of the initiative to deliver essential commodities at subsidized prices to 01 crore low-income families.’ The study was undertaken as an effort to assess the impact of the initiative on the livelihood and living standards of the beneficiaries; to identify challenges in TCB's product sales activities through Family Cards; and to provide recommendations for improving the quality of product sales activity under the said initiative.

The study adopted mixed methods. A field survey of 100 participants was conducted in 5 districts namely: Dhaka, Kurigram, Jamalpur, Bandarban, and Patuakhali from 5 divisions. Besides, 02 case studies were conducted on TCB's family/smart card beneficiaries. Moreover, 30 key informants including Policy Makers, Think Tanks, beneficiaries and Others. A validation workshop of the study was held in Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute on 05 March 2024.
