A framework document on the outcomes of World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conferences and key doable actions for Bangladesh

Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) published 2nd edition of ‘A Framework Document on The Outcomes of WTO Ministerial Conferences and Key Doable Actions for Bangladesh (MC1-MC13)’ to augment knowledge of the actors of the international trade regarding decisions of WTO Ministerial Conferences.

The rationale behind the publication of framework document is to delineate the potential scope and critical aspects of the major WTO MCs Outcomes and Key Doable Actions for Bangladesh which are instrumental in international trade, and to determine the areas of intervention. The study covers outcomes of the Thirteenth (13) Conference of the WTO MCs held spanning from 1996 (Singapore) to 2024 (Abu Dhabi). The study has provided an in-depth understanding of how these MC outcomes affect Bangladesh economy, trade policies and overall development. By analyzing the specific provisions and arrangements of the WTO MC Outcomes, the study has assessed potential impacts and relevance to Bangladesh’s national interest in world trade.

The findings of this document will significantly contribute to augmenting knowledge related to the WTO MCs Outcomes. It will serve as a valuable resource for policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders in Bangladesh, offering insights and recommendations to develop the country's engagement with the WTO and reap the benefits derived from these WTO MC Outcomes.
